About us
\nPlay Well OT is a growing pediatric occupational therapy practice located within PlayWell Brooklyn, an inclusive indoor play space in Gowanus. We built our space for kids of every kind of nervous system: climbing structures and swings, spaces for big movement and quiet corners for kids who need a minute, and equipment chosen with sensory needs in mind rather than added as an afterthought. On any given afternoon you'll find neurodivergent and neurotypical kids playing side by side, which is the whole point.
\n \nFor a therapist, it means your sessions happen in a room kids actually want to be in. No convincing anyone to come off the waiting room floor. The play is already happening, and you get to shape it.
\n \nAbout the role
\n \nWe're looking for an experienced pediatric OT to take on a steady caseload of 1:1 clients.
\n \nThis is a contract position, which means real autonomy over your schedule and how you practice. It suits a clinician who's past the stage of needing someone looking over their shoulder, who builds genuine relationships with families, and who likes owning their caseload from evaluation through discharge.
\n \nYou'll love this role:
\n \nIf you love hands-on sensory work:
\n• Run play-based sessions in a space built for it, with swings, climbing structures, and quiet corners already in place
\n• Design creative, individualized treatment plans
\n• Work with kids across a wide range of developmental profiles, so no two days look alike
\n \n️ If you want autonomy:
\n• Set your own schedule directly with families and build the week that fits your life
\n• Manage a steady caseload with reliable referrals, so you're not hustling to fill hours
\n \nIf you want to be part of a community:
\n• Join a practice where kids of all abilities play together and therapy is woven into the day
\n• Collaborate with therapists across disciplines and think out loud with like-minded clinicians
\n \nWhat we're looking for:
\n \nMaster's degree in Occupational Therapy
\nActive New York State OT license and NBCOT certification
\n⏳ 2 to 3+ years of pediatric experience, ideally including sensory clinic work
\nReal experience with sensory processing differences, autistic kids, and a range of developmental profiles
\n️ Comfort running your own caseload and schedule without heavy oversight
\nStrong communication, organization, and clinical reasoning
\n \nHow to apply:
\n \nEmail playwellot@gmail.com with your resume and a few lines about yourself. If it looks like a fit, we'll set up a time for you to come see the space and meet the team.
